It is not easy to know how to teach or preach Psalms, and how to study them, so that they really do become our prayers. Perhaps this is why we have substantially lost them from our corporate prayers and praises in many of our churches. At this meeting Christopher will take a selection of Psalms to model for us how to teach them and - most important - how to pray them as Christian men and women today.
Christopher Ash has published Teaching Psalms Volume 1: A Handbook (Christian Focus, 2017) and is working on Volume 2: A Christian introduction to each of the 150 Psalms. It will be helpful, but is not essential, if you can read Teaching Psalms Volume 1 before the event.
Christopher Ash is Writer-in-Residence at Tyndale House and Ministry Trainer at St.Andrew the Great in Cambridge. He directed the Proclamation Trust’s Cornhill Training Course from 2004-2015. A list of his books can be found in the Staff section of the Tyndale House website www.tyndale.cam.ac.uk
